About

It just seems natural to owner and founder, Tracey Drews, that Grassroots a salon opened in the spring of 2006 – because here at the salon, fresh ideas are always sprouting.

Years of working in a variety of styling environments shaped one clear vision for Tracey. She wanted to own her own salon, but only in an environment that embraced each stylists’ uniqueness and creativity.

The salon is very relaxing and friendly and the positive energy of the place makes it obvious that the stylists are comfortable and love what they do.

The whole vibe of the salon is about beauty and independence, which I relish. I can tell that Tracey and the Grassroots team are engaged in our community in so many meaningful and creative ways. Love being a part of that environment!”

Full Circle

At the center of the Grassroots business is a “full circle” philosophy.

What we do,
how we live and
how each person contributes is connected.

Tracey believes that “everyday is earth day”, and the choices we make on a daily basis impact the earth.

homa, Grassroots is committed to using:

  • homemade, eco-friendly laundry detergent
  • pure essential oils
  • reusable coffee cups
  • green cleaning products
  • and local recycling programs.

Understanding that our beauty industry is filled with synthetics and chemicals, we are hyper-committed to keeping a “cleaner, greener” salon environment.

That’s why we have partnered with Aveda to offer you haircare products-

  • products that put truth back in natural haircare
  • products that are grounded in goodness to provide you with true health and beauty, inside and out.

Grassroots is the natural choice
to growing your beauty.

Helping Hands

It matters to us that “we pay it forward” and give back to the community in which we do business.

Grassroots has formed a Compassion Team that is always brainstorming ideas and finding ways to help our local community and enhance our Fox Cities.

You may see a food drive in our salon, “A Day Off” event for people battling chronic illness or cancer, free haircuts and haircare classes for refugees relocating to our area or you may see us volunteer our services for the residents of the local domestic abuse shelter, Harbor House.

Whatever our outreach, we hope we can give our gifts back to those in our community who want to look and feel their best, no matter their circumstances.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship

Owner, Tracey Drews, is a graduate of a groundbreaking business program in the Fox Valley. She was one of the first graduates of the E-Seed Entrepreneur Training Program at the Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College. She joins hundreds of fellow graduates who have improved the area economy by creating businesses and jobs.

It is hard to write in just a few sentences what Tracey Drews and Grassroots a salon represent to me and the community as a whole. Personally, Tracey has to be one of the most ambitious and daring people I know. There doesn’t seem to be a challenge she isn’t willing to face or one that she wouldn’t help someone else through and for that I couldn’t be more thankful to have her in my life.

Professionally, I admire the way she has developed Grassroots into a wonderfully inspiring space space that provides excellent service to their clients, and for many that is a job well done. But Tracey has also used her salon as a way to promote other small businesses & local charities, donate her time and talents to help boost the confidence of ladies from local shelters as they prepare to start a new life, and last year created “A Day Off” event geared towards people with chronic or terminal illnesses. The event provided services, friendship and community to the participants that was not only life changing to many of them but emotional and inspiring to myself.

Thank you Tracey and Grassroots staff for all you do. Appleton is lucky to have you.”
