Ali Milton is a young artist with a great eye for color and style. Originally from Los Angeles, California where her love for abstract expressionism began, she has continued to showcase her talent since moving to Appleton in 2008. She received her Bachelors Degree in Business from Loyola Marymount University in 2003 and spent many years working in business related fields until finally following her heart and love of art. When she is not busy painting, she spends her time tutoring math to kids and is currently working on starting a non-profit organization to help people with special abilities learn to express themselves through art. Her other hobbies include snowboarding and spending time with family and her two feisty cats.
Many artists, particularly Jackson Pollock and Mark Tobey, have influenced much of her style. However, she credits most of her designs to the life experiences she has been through. Ali is a self-taught painter and loves trying new ideas with her paintings. Her medium is acrylic on canvas, but has implemented many other materials throughout her art. Some of her other art can currently be seen at Red & White Wine Bar in Appleton or on her Facebook page, www.facebook.com/caliali1632.
“My art is my therapy. Each piece is an individual expression of the way I was feeling the moment my paintbrush hit the canvas until the moment I stopped. When I paint, I just pick up a brush and go…I have no idea what I am painting or how it will turn out, I simply go with my heart.” Ali Milton
