Owner Tracey Drews, Grassroots a salon.
It just seems appropriate that Grassroots a salon opened in the spring of 2006 – because fresh ideas are always sprouting.
Years of working in a variety of styling environments shaped one clear vision for Tracey Drews – she wanted to own her own salon, but only in an environment that embraced each stylists’ individual creativity. Each stylist is an independent contractor. This ensures the Grassroots team has a broad range of experience in individualized customer service and in staying current on style, color and cutting trends.
At the center of the Grassroots business is a “full circle” philosophy. What we do, how we live and how each person contributes is linked. That’s why we only use products that are environmentally friendly – from dyes to shampoos; it matters to us if the product and the packaging are green. We hope you even notice that our coffee cups are reusable, not disposable!
It also matters that “we give where we get” and we donate our services back to the community. You may see a food drive in our salon, or you may see us volunteer our services for the residents of the domestic abuse shelter, Harbor House. Whatever we do, we hope we can give our gifts back to those in our community who want to look their best no matter their circumstances.
Owner, Tracey Drews, is a graduate of a groundbreaking program in the Fox Valley. She was one of the first graduates of the E-Seed Entrepreneur Training Program at the Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College. She joins hundreds of fellow graduates who have improved the area economy by creating businesses and jobs.
