Here is the story of our featured artist for the months of July and August..
New Light Mosaics came to life through a vision for a family business. Wanting to use old windows from a house remodel to spruce up our home became the start of something creative and enjoyable for my family. Using left over stained glass from a previous project, I placed it into the old windows and absolutely LOVED the modern lines of the stained glass with the antique look of the window. I’m hooked on these windows , and from the response I’ve had from customers, I am sure you would enjoy one in a special spot in your home or landscape!
The life of a New Light Mosaics is created with the inspiration of Ephesians 2:10, which says “For we are his workmanship; created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” This piece of art starts off as a window condemned to the dumpster or junk yard and is of no use. The artist sees potential in this window, not willing that the window should be destroyed and forgotten, the artist takes great care to pluck it from the garbage. He scrapes the years of disregard and dust off and transforms it into a vision of beauty. The artist brings a new purpose, and vibrancy to the window, affixing bright bold colors of glass, and never before has the window looked so amazing. The window now reflects the heart of the artist and he is well pleased. The window has been saved from the dump and becomes a new creation and focal point of a room.
