Grassroot’s featured artist for the next few months is Shawn Marie Photography.
Shawn Marie first learned about photography during hikes with her father, back in the days of film and manual cameras. As her interest in the hobby of photography increased she began to create prints for her home as well as gifts for others. Then what first started as a hobby became a career. She opened her own business in 2005 photographing weddings, children and high school seniors but her first love of photographing nature has never diminished. She continues to create art for the home whether it is a local hike around the Appleton area, Door County or travels as far as Germany. She also incorporates other processes to her work such as Polaroid transfers and hand painted textures.
