A special shopping event next month will raise funds for two local charities, The Miracle League of the Fox Valley and Bundle Up Kids.
The Sandra Began Holiday Preview and Fundraising Shopping Event will run from 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 and from 9 to noon Oct. 17.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and can be purchased at Sandra Began, from Appleton resident Sandra Began, Grassroots A Salon in Appleton and The Wreath Factory of Menasha. The first 125 shoppers each day will receive a gift bag filled with coupons, gift cards and goodies from Tracy Porter, Avenue Jewelers, The Wreath Factory, Ruva Cards and other local retailers.
The Miracle League, an organized baseball league, is raising funds to construct a specialized baseball field at Memorial Park in Appleton for children ages 4-19 with physical and/or mental disabilities. Began’s sister, Lisa Robbins, is the director of the league and Began’s nephew, Michael, will play in the league in the spring.
Began created Bundle Up Kids to provide snow pants, boots, gloves and hats to local elementary kids in need.
