These two little girls took it upon themselves to grow their hair out, with the intention of cutting it off. They each sacrificed about 9 inches in length of hair and are donating it to an organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantage children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. We applaud these little Grassroot’s clients and are amazed at their understanding of the gift of giving and thank them for letting us being a part of it. For more information about organizations that you can donate your hair contact www.locksoflove.org or www.beautifullengths.com

Great job Tracey. Did the girls tell you what motivated them to donate?

One of the girls was motivated by one of her friends who had donated her hair. A year later after growing her hair she was then finally able to donate. In talking with her mom, she already has future plans on growing it back out with intentions of cutting it off again. Apparently this act of giving has rubbed off on her little sister, who measures her hair about every other day to see if it is long enough yet. Don’t be surprised Appleton if you start seeing more little girls around sporty there “new” little bobs.

This lovely girl was inspired by her grandfather, who was diagnosed with cancer and learned that she could help others by donating her hair. Once motivated, every trim she would ask if she was almost there. It was a very excitable experience the day she could finally give her donation! Her younger sister has also donated her hair to locks of love. Thank you so much!

Aw, how touching that those little ones did that! How old were they?

Michelle, these girls are around 8 years old and already had hair long enough to be able to donate. I personally never had long hair at that age, maybe because my father took upon himself to be the family “hairstylist”.
